Promotion....

No.. i didnt get a promotion..

However i just heard my friend in my ex-company have already risen to a managerial post...

And it sort of tick off a jealousy button in me... lol ... this from someone who dont looks much at high posts :p

But this is because he and me used to join my ex-company at the same time... then we advance quite well together.. except he ending in the other team and i going to another team....

 

And then i left my ex-company.. while he still sticks on ..

Now... my post is still not a managerial post & yet he already achieved it...

 

Lord, Let me not have a heart of jealousy,

Chasing after something as frivilous as a worldly recognition,

I thank you Lord for leading me away from worldly temptation,

where the devil in the form of corporation will mislead me from your word,

where in doing so i might have not known you.

Thank you Lord, for you are so good to me. Amen.

 

Its hard not to feel jealous, when someone who was the same of you became better than you.

This even happened to our Lord Jesus when he was preaching back in his hometown.

 

Matthew 13:54-57

 54Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. "Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?" they asked. 55"Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" 57And they took offense at him.But Jesus said to them, "Only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honor."

 

The same ppl in his own hometown couldnt believe his words as when hear his teachings saying stuff like ..isnt this guy the same guy who grown up among us, did we not know him before ?

Its the same for us also, when someone we know, and is better than us, when we actually thought we are equal... but we failed to see that God's blessing is different for each and everyone of us.... and that many a times.. we will take "offense" on our friends becaused of this.... May God guide each and everyone of us to a better understanding among others....
